The WK Armchair 01 seamlessly integrates the beauty of wood grain into its form. An armchair that allows you to savor the luxurious texture of wood both visually and physically. Traditional Japanese woodworking techniques, such as the 'Arare-gumi' technique found in the Masu wooden box, are employed in the joinery of the wood, giving the chair its iconic form. The ergonomic, gently curved seat is designed with the body's range of movement and seating comfort in mind, allowing the chair to be used comfortably for extended periods of time. Representative of MAS, each component of the WK Armchair 01 is imbued with functionality. Lightweight and stackable up to three chairs.

Wataru Kumano
Product designer. He studied in Finland from 2001 to 2008 and worked for Jasper Morrison after returning to Japan. He established the design office “kumano” in 2011, and works on projects with domestic and foreign furniture makers such as Nikari, Karimoku and Tendo Mokko, based on the theme of design with a background such as environment, functionality, and regional characteristics.
